Yael NAIM
Artist, songwriter, pianist, and guitarist

In Older, Yael Naim sings more than ever before. The latest and third album by the French-Israeli singer, Older, is an act of renewal as much as the expression of a confirmation.

Yael and David have composed and produced together for more than ten years, a music with no other age than the one of our dreamt lives. In eleven songs composed and produced with David Donatien, her musical partner since the first album, Yael engages in tightrope walking and reveals an inextinguisible and captivating musical thrive. Since New Soul, these two artists are in our lives and the songs of the latest album deal with another time process. Passing on to a child and living in the absence of those who themselves passed on to us. Overcoming the fear of playing a lifelong music. Laughing with the seriousness of a child. Transforming all this in songs.

This chapter was written along with a surprising orchestra: the 3some Sisters, or when three characters by Russ Meyer are hired by Tim Burton to sing The Supremes; the drummer and legendary sound producer of the funk band The Meters « Zigaboo » Modeliste; the banjo and singing of a Creole blueslady named Leyla Mc Calla; a children’s choir joined by a choir of anonymous online-recruited people; the bass heroe lines of Daniel Roméo, not to forget all we need of brass and strings so that the scenery does not lack any broad shots.
